The Pembrokeshire Area
The village of Broadhaven is located in the centre of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on an area of coastline known as St. Brides Bay. It is approximately mid-way between Newport in the North West of the Park and Tenby on the South East edge of the Park.
The beach at Broadhaven is spectacular with golden sands, rock pools and shore-line caves for children to explore. Its broad expanse at low tide offers plenty of opportunity to explore the rugged coastline and, space for beach games from the tame (frisbee/cricket) to the more adventurous (kite-surfing). At low tide you can take a stroll across the sand to the beach and village of Little Haven.
Other beautiful beaches close by include Druidstone (2 miles), Nolton Haven (4 miles) Newgale (6 miles) and Marloes Sands (7 miles). Those who like crabbing might like to try the boardwalk at Dale (7 miles) - for a prize every time!
Broad Haven offers most facilities within a small area including restaurants, pubs, a well stocked LONDIS with long opening hours (PO facilities, a cash-point, film hire, on-site bakery), a cafeteria/take-away chip shop, a surf shop offering kayak/wetsuit hire and boat trips, beach-side shops and a gift shop. The village hall holds quality art and photographic exhibitions at various times throughout the holiday season.
Haverfordwest is the nearest town (6 miles east) and has a leisure centre, cinema, castle, large supermarkets, petrol stations and a farmers' market for buying fresh, local produce.
